A Bill Before Congress attacks homeschooling!
Friday, December 16th, 2011They’re at it again. The homeschool haters (read “public school teachers and administrators, and their unions”), those destructive agents of greed and chaos are trying to kill homeschooling again. A bill has been placed before Congress that you need to be aware of. It is yet another attempt to shut down homeschooling in the U.S.
Who would benefit from such a disaster, the closing down of the one form of education that actually DOES work? The country would certainly not benefit from our constitutional rights being taken away. It won’t benefit from universal PUBLIC education, proven to be an unqualified disaster for over 100 years in the United States. Who benefits? Who is funding, initiating and supporting bills like these?
Well, if all kids are forced into schools, the schools make more $$$$$. Public school teachers make more money. Their pay is based on head count, after all. Their unions make more dues. Politicians get elected for supporting their agenda, as there are well over three million (and some stats say four million) public school teachers in America.
Take a look at this write up regarding the bill and see what you think.
Really, we must get government out of the education business, and I mean forever. I’ve completed authoring a book which I’ll release in January describing public school abuses and failures, and a plan to close all public schools, replacing them with many form or private education. And I do mean many forms, thoroughly described. I’m serious – public schools need to go. More on the book in January, but when I see things like the article above then I know I’m on the right track.

The bill mentioned above is a NJ state bill but it seems, here in VA, that there is always some bill being pushed on the Senate against homeschooling. However, we have several well organized and fierce homeschool advocate groups here as well. I encourage all homeschool advocates and families to support their local homeschool groups and stay on top of legislation that will effect us!
I do believe there must be some other reason for politicians to being going against homeschoolers besides the schools making more money, though. Public school districts still get to count students in alternative education programs as part of their attendance records so homeschooling your child doesn’t take that money away from the schools. So, that being said, it must just be more control issues on part of the government. Can you say IndoctriNation?

Hi Buffy,
Good points, but I believe schools get far less money for students not actually in attendance. At least, that’s how it was when I taught for LAUSD. But yes, you’re right, it is all about control either way, isn’t it! Control of “the message”, of what children “learn”. You are absolutely correct on that o0ne. There is no single force in civilization more promising or more potentially damaging than education, depending on how it’s handled. Currently, I don’t have to tell you, our public institutions of education could not be handling it is a more disastrous manner. Thanks for writing!
